In the occasion of the mother day and within its scope of planning to insure job opportunities for women and encourage the local artisan production, Almidan NGO headed by Mrs. Rima Frangieh supported the municipality of Mejdel – Al Zakzouk wata Fares in Al koura caza to open an “artisan factory” established in the village in collaboration with the association of “Mejdel Cooperative” and the municipality.
The factory provides industrialized artisan food known as “Home food” whereas jams, pickles and traditional food are done in order to prevent agriculture production loss and to create job opportunities for the women of the mentioned villages above. Also, the factory contains a Knoll part for knitting and weaving production.
The head of “Mejdel Cooperative” association, Mrs. Evelyne Zoghby pointed out that the project objectives are to help women at home and she revealed her gratitude for all who supported the project, especially Mrs. Rima Sleiman Frangieh. Mrs. Zoghby emphasized on that this project had created jobs for more than 15 ladies from the villages of Mejdel, Al Zazzouq and Wata fares and provided an industrial solution to the remaining agricultural products.
Moreover, the head of the municipality, Mrs. Najat Zoghy said that the aim of the municipality is to create job opportunities for women to provide incomes and help their husbands in this financial crisis, the municipality had already worked on the marketing issue with national and international markets. Also, Mrs. Najat Zoghy presented its gratefulness to Almidan NGO for its support in strengthening the people in their lands and providing them with decent living conditions.
